The Mission Assurance department encompasses Quality (which has been present since the founding of Northrop Grumman Italia in 1961), Internal Audit and Process Improvement. Within the Quality Assurance group we have both Hardware and Software Quality teams. The first company quality manual was issued in March 1969 to meet the requirements of Italian Standard AA-Q-1. The company’s Quality Assurance organization was approved by D.G.C.A.A.A.S. (now DGAA - Direzione Generale degli Armamenti Aerei) in the same year. The Company Quality System has been periodically re-certified and its last re-certification was in March 2002 when it was certified against AQAP-110/150 (Allied Quality Assurance Publications-110/150) requirements.
The Mission Assurance Department also supported the implementation of the Company Policy on Environment as noted in the attached document.
NGI hold the following certifications:
• EN 14001:2004 certification in June 2011
A number of other second party certifications have also been awarded, for example, our last second party recertification was a Statement of Assessment by the AECMA-EASE (Association Europeanne des Constructeurs de Material Aerospatiale - European Association for Supplier Evaluation) association, which was awarded in June 2003. Aermacchi, Agusta and Alenia Aeronautica are a few of the companies that belong to the AECMA-EASE association.
